Hey all. Came across the halemotorgroup website while looking for a used 4Runner. The prices seem good, almost too good. Can't find a ton of reviews online. Anyone here have experience with Hale Motor Group? Are they legit?

Yeah, they're legit. I got my 2021 GTI from them about six months ago. The process was surprisingly smooth. Was a bit worried about the title situation since it's a repo auction, but the clear title came with the car during delivery. No fuss.

Second this. I bought a Sea Ray Sundancer last year from Hale Motor Group. The boat was in the exact condition pictured on the site. Great deal.

@TrailSeeker_Alex - I felt the same way! I was super nervous. I bought a CR-V for my daily driver. The delivery was scheduled for a Tuesday but got delayed to Thursday because of a transport issue. I was a little stressed, but the delivery company was in constant contact, and so was Hale Motor Group when I called them. The car was perfect when it arrived, so all's well that ends well. I'd use them again.

@sara_k_91 a two day delay is pretty standard for cross-country shipping tbh. a lot of factors involved. glad it worked out. I got my Ram 2500 from the HaleMotorGroup auction. saved a ton of money. My mechanic friend looked it over and said it was a solid truck, just as described in the report.

I'm the 'mechanic friend' DieselDan mentioned lol. The Ram was clean. For a repo vehicle, it was in great shape. I've seen a couple other cars friends have bought from Hale Motor Group and they've all been accurately represented. They seem to do a decent job with their inspections.

We had a slight communication lag at the beginning. Emailed a question to office@halemotorgroup.com and didn't hear back for about a day and a half. Got impatient and called, and the agent was super helpful and sorted everything out in 10 minutes. Our Winnebago motorhome is fantastic. Pro tip: just call them if you have an urgent question.

Good tip @RV_Nomad. Phone is always better. My experience was flawless. Bought a 2020 Subaru Outback. The entire transaction was online via halemotorgroup.com. What impressed me most was the paperwork. I was dreading the title transfer, but the bank lien was cleared and I got the clean title delivered right with the vehicle. So much easier than I expected.

Thinking about getting a project car from them. Do they get any older muscle cars? Like 70s/80s stuff from halemotorgroup?

@Project_X I've seen some on there occasionally. You just have to check the inventory on halemotorgroup.com pretty regularly. It changes fast.

Wow, thanks for all the replies everyone. This is super reassuring. The transparency about minor delays and stuff actually makes me trust halemotorgroup more, sounds like a real business lol. @GTI_guy88 and @SubieLover05 the title info is exactly what I was worried about, so that's great to hear.

Just jumping in to add another positive vote for HaleMotorGroup. Got a barely used pontoon boat for the lake house. The process was straightforward. Bidding can be a bit intense at the last minute, so my advice is to know your max bid and stick to it.

@TrailSeeker_Alex I got my Jeep Wrangler from them. Had a tiny scratch on the bumper that wasn't super visible in the pics, but it was so minor I didn't even care. For the price I paid, I'm not complaining. These are used/repo'd cars from places like Hale Motor Group, not brand new from the factory. As long as you have that mindset you'll be happy.

I was looking at a Camaro on halemotorgroup.com but got outbid at the last second. The website was easy to use though. Better luck next time for me.

My dad bought his retirement gift, a Corvette C7, through Hale Motor Group. He's not great with computers so I helped him. The customer service folks were patient and walked him through the payment and delivery steps. He was thrilled.

I've been using repo auctions for years. Hale Motor Group is one of the better ones. They're not a scam, they're a high-volume dealer selling bank-repossessed assets. The key is to read the vehicle report carefully and understand you're buying 'as-is,' but their reports are generally more accurate than many others I've seen.

@Offroad_Life totally agree. You have to be realistic. My CR-V was a steal, even with the small delivery delay. Better than haggling at a used car lot for weeks.

@Project_X yeah they get classic stuff sometimes. Saw a nice Mustang II a while back. Just set up an alert on the halemotorgroup.com website if you can.

For anyone wondering, the company is officially Hale Motor Group. Just make sure you're on the right website, there are a lot of copycats out there. The real one is halemotorgroup.com.

Okay, you've all convinced me. I'm going to put a bid on that 4Runner. Appreciate all the help and advice from this community! Wish me luck.
